For Monday, Oct 28 — Homework / Sketchbook / in-class materials to bring
Homework: Since there was some confusion about last week's MTA poster assignment, you'll have until Monday, October 28, to complete it. Refer to Diana's previous blog post, "Homework #5," for all assignment details.
If you feel you are already finished then you're done.
If the sketch you brought to class on Monday, Oct 21, did not include ALL OF THE ELEMENTS Diana assigned then now is your chance to fix that. If your sketch included all of the elements but you would like to improve your sketch before it's graded, then this is an opportunity to do that.
I'll be sending images of all of your sketches to Diana. We will take photos of what is on the wall during class, and if you prefer to send her a digital file there will be time for you to email those to me during class.
-----
Sketchbook assignment: "Odd Couples" — Draw a minimum of 3 odd couples: 1 animal couple, 1 plant couple, 1 inanimate couple ("inanimate" meaning not alive: like a toaster or a rock). Exaggerate physical differences through proportion and shape. For those of you who were in class today, think of this as an extension of our last in-class exercise.
-----
In-class materials for Monday, October 28:
Required:
- X-acto knife
- Some kind of drawing paper
Optional but helpful:
- Scrap colored paper (any kind—wrapping paper, construction paper, newspaper...)
- Glue (glue stick would be easiest)
- Drawing markers or pens (Sharpies are fine too)
- Crayons (really, anything you want to play with)
- Something to protect the surface of the table, like a cutting mat or a piece of cardboard or poster board
-----
